MedTrials Strengthens Data Management and Biostatistics Offering
In a move to bolster existing bioinformatics offerings to the pharmaceutical, medical device and biologics industries, Dallas-based MedTrials, Inc. has acquired the data management and biostatistics capabilities of Philadelphia-based DataMedix Corporation.
DALLAS, February 14, 2005 - MedTrials, Inc., a Dallas-based, clinical research services firm, today announced the acquisition of the data management and biostatistics capabilities of Philadelphia-based DataMedix Corporation.
This venture includes the acquisition of DataMedix's existing data management and statistical information systems, as well as the transitioning of all core DataMedix personnel over to MedTrials. It is expected that this move will strengthen MedTrials' existing data management and biostatistics service offerings, while helping to fuel growth in that department in 2005 and beyond. As MedTrials COO, Brian Morgan, stated, "We are enthusiastic about the enhanced capabilities that result from this, and are looking forward to our increased ability to compete for larger bioinformatics projects in the future."
MedTrials and DataMedix have successfully partnered on clinical studies for years, and this move represents a powerful combination of expertise that will enable MedTrials to build on the technology and success that DataMedix has created. While MedTrials' headquarters will remain in Dallas, Texas, an east-coast office will be established in the Philadelphia area to support this venture and provide capacity for additional growth.
